40 gallon breeder (150 litres)

For a 40 gallon breeder (36 long by 18 wide by 16 deep in inches or 91 by 45 by 40 cm)

Option 1, would be neat but I'm worried it's overstocked:

7 Threadfin Rainbows Iriatherina werneri (all male school)

7 Espei Rasboras Trigonostigma espei

7 Cherry Barbs Puntius titteya (all males)

6 Bronze Cory Osteogaster aenea, formerly Corydoras aeneus

4 Honey Gourami Trichogaster chuna

1 Longfin Albino Bristlenose Pleco Ancistrus cirrhosus

Option 2:

1 Bolivian Ram Mikrogeophagus altispinosus

8 Harlequin Rasboras Trigonostigma heteromorpha

8 Cherry Barbs Puntius titteya (all male)

6 Corydoras aeneus Osteogaster aenea, formerly Corydoras aeneus

4 Honey Gourami Trichogaster chuna

1 Longfin Albino Bristlenose Pleco Ancistrus cirrhosus

The Cherry Barbs, Cories, Bristlenose, and Honeys are already in there.

As I'm researching Threadfins more I'm finding them listed as active and lively. How active are we talking here? Would their activity level work okay with the Honey Gourami, who tend to get easily startled and are timid overall?
