my FBT escaped from it's tank for about 4 or 5 hours, but we found him.
It was dried out but seems to be doing ok back in the tank @ the edge of the water
partly in except for his face.Been misting it and seem to be improving.
Has anyone ever lost one then rehydrated it after so long out of water??

update after 2 hours in the tank the toad is moving around the tank on his own.
It appears to be making a recovery from it's adventure hopping around the house.. :kana:

I am glad to hear he is ok! :)

My ADF found his way out of the tank once (God knows how!!) and when I picked him up, he was dry and I held out little hope for the guy. I have no idea how long he was out, or how my idle cats failed to notice him (my hubby found him by almost stepping on him!!) but a month later, he is doing fine and has (for the time being) counted his lucky stars and stayed where it is wet! :D

Luckily firebellied toads, like many toads, can handle being out of water for extended periods, although they probably don't enjoy it they can survive for several hours with no water, as long as the temperature isn't too high.
