Now Im Seriously Unhappy! Update

this is my 2nd time dealing with ich too. the 1st was in my 1st tank before i knew anything of cycling etc and i thought it meant certain death for all my fish. but i learnt a lot from that experience so this time round altho it no less annoying i now know its not certain doom.

in just 3 short days the difference is amazing the ich hasnt spread to any other fish and both sevs are begining to clear up already . id highly reccomend the med im using its amazing. very pleased

will do the next dose of meds is due thursday . may not even need another 1 after that but says to dose 48 hours after spots clear up which at this rate they should be by thursday. i think tho if come thursday all is clear il still dose thursday and then on saturday just to be sure.

Just because you cant se ick does not mean its gone. It love to hang out in the gills. keep doing what your doing but a few extra days will not hurt.

What are you using? I have treated ich more times then I would like to admit. Seems like almost every New fish I get has ich. A few of my LF are not the best when it comes to treating sick fish. Now when I get fish from these stores I know I will be dealing with it in a few days. I have even bought fish knowing they have ich to save them from the store.

Ich are like dog fleas. in fact I'm also dealing with ich. My new pleco Came from one of the bad stores has it. its so annoying even to treat in the small quarantine tank.

im using king british ws3 full strength whitespot terminator . im going to continue treating for a few days eveb after the spots have all cleared.

Glad your winning :) I would keep treating for a while after as said better safe than sorry. Hoping that mine will get better but not looking too good for me gutted :( If I lose these thats £50 wasted on fish in the past month.

Mark, have you taken advice from wilder? ( i think youre doing a fab job) only asking.. see if she has used this med and see if she would recomend a 2nd round with it( water change carbon then re-treat).. i know somwtimes she does but cant remember what meds :/ also that the whitespot will live in the gravel.. honestly i have a memory like a sieve

good odeas shelagh il drop her a pm and get her input, after all shes the resident forum fish meds guru  every time i dose i do a water change of around 25% plus give the sand a good hoovering too . today im looking in the tank and cant see a single white spot on any fish so touch wood its now just a case of makimg sure i get the tail enders.

SUCCESS!!!! no whitespot on any fish any more. now all i have to do is keep treatment up for a bit to get rid of any remaining parasites in water/sand. :good:

Yeah! glad to hear that you seem to have beaten it, fantastic news.

well no spots for about 3 days now so have given the tank the clean of its life. i took out all the bogwood etc and scrubbed it with boiling water syphoned out most of the sand replaced it with new and did a water change of about 60 to 70% gave them the usual saturday livefood treats of shrimp and daphnia then gave em another dose of meds to be certain its knocked out. all fish seem healthy and happy and touch wood all is well
