Not So New 65g (uk) Reef+ 10g Sump And New 30g Fuge

Trials and tribulations!!

All went quite well with the move-over; Saturday night left me with this

From there I finished of the plumbing of the overflows (in hindsight should have had 3) and started lying in the sump framework. In addition to the 4x4 supporting leg I added another 2x4.

Next I drained the old sump and washed it out and plumbed it in with the skimmer and the returns (note the tee for the SH tank.

4footbuild037.jpg

Had to modify the sump layout due to me being a numpty! Didn’t measure the skimmer correctly and it didn’t fit. This is the new layout.

Then I had to drain the old tank and move the livestock and the LR out.

LR
4footbuild051.jpg

The LR you see here has been in the Blue tub with a 1700lph and old tank water. From there it’s been given a RO dip’n’shake then into 50/50 old/new tankwater. And look what I found.
4footbuild048.jpg

After this the LR was put in the new tank using milliput feet and all stuck together. Then the rest of the 50/50 water was pumped in.

Fish and corals where acclimatised over a 2hour period (Drip fill pump out, drip fill pump out etc etc)

  micro bubbles in the ,what will be, DSB area (I sould be a rapper) :shout:

Any comments fron

1) getting rid of micro bubbles from the skimmer
2) hanging MH's

1) Anyway to put a valve on the air line to reduce the flow of air into the venturi? Or perhaps a valve on the outlet of the pump to reduce its output?
2) depends, where do you have to hang them from?

LOL I thought it hurt a bit!
LOL

LOL

My god I've got the giggles!!!!

Right... sort your self out MAttt *slap slap*

Hanging from the roof (celing) or the wall? also had the option to set them in a hood (not incase them!)

If you dont want to case them up (summer heating woes) then I'd do an open case and use some hooks and chain so that you ca change the height if you want.

As you can see I got the doors on the side panel and the hood. Still to do the Temp controler the auto-topoff and install the MH's. Having a tinker with the sump flow settings and the skimmer B/C of bubbles in the tank

But..... I'm getting there!!!!

New fish soon.

Wel go some things done......
