Not So New 65g (uk) Reef+ 10g Sump And New 30g Fuge

Haveing time is the only thing might get time this weekend but I'm babysitting on the friday, staff do on the sat so could find time on sunday?

Also sorting out pumps and closed loops :hey:

The return pump I got for the new build was only 25 squiddies so might get another for two closed loops, and I'll be getting a 300lph for the return so I can run two outlets on the return and maybe have enough power for a letby on the return to run a reactor or UV.

Apart from that I've got the angle Aluminum and nuts and bolts for the lighting rig. The other 250w MH also 3x 4' VHO actinics. most of the pipework.

Oooh, big spender goin with VHO :p.

Man, though you had an actual mystery wrasse there... I hear those things are crazy expensive. On the order of $250+ here in the states

Looking all new and shiney, smells great to, got to get the mounting box for it tonight.

I'm getting there!!

Good looking skimmer, what pump are you gonna pair with it?

Looking Good Matt!! Thats a hefty skimmer!! The tank plans are great look forward to seeing the finished product :good:

Oh that is nice. cool skimmer too. cnt w8 to see the tank!

For a pump I have 3 that I could use depending on what type of skimming I want.

1) A 2500lph, one of the closed loop pumps I could use for a gental skimming action
2) A 3000lph, My fisrt return pump I bought. This could be used as per the instructions for a normal type skim
3) A 4500lph, the second return I bought (didn't think the 3000 would be enough) this would overskim.

The only problem I have is that being in the sump the skimmer can't turnover more than the return pump. So with this I'm going to go for the 2500lph and see how I go. Going to use the 4500lph as a return and the 3000 on the closed loop.

Any input would be great :good:

I assume that you're going to allow the pump impeller to chop up the air to create your microbubbles? If that's the case, I'd go with the one that makes the most bubbles regardless of flowrate. If you can find a needlewhweel impeller for any of the pumps you have, get that and use it. Needlewheel pumps make the most bubbles by far.

Well, all went well on the firat day and so far I'v got this

Then I don't know how many of you are on reefcentral but it a bit of a tridition to put the child in the tank and so he went in!
