Noisy Filter

HI All.

I got a fluval mini filter for my 50 ltr tank (a great filter) but recently its been making a very loud noise which it never did before. I checked the impeller and theres no gunk stuck behind it. Is this simpley old age? ive had it 2 years running 24/7.

It could be. They do tend to get louder with age (in my experience anyway). Parts get looser and rattle about more. All you can do is keep it as clean as possible. Maybe replace the impeller if it gets too noisy?

Or it could be that it's got air in it, and whenever you do a water change or filter maintainance you need to be more careful about making sure it's full of water before turning it on so there's no airlocks.
