No Sand?

Im not a fish expert, but i am a thinking man. Wouldnt a tank without a bottom create an environment with no clear orientation? Fish dont have inner ears like land animals do.

Swap sand for cheap gravel - Jollye's do big bags for £10 - two would easily do a 7ft tank (assuming that's the one we're on about).

oh u know jollye's to, yeah i was thinking about gravel, but im going to take the sand out today then put the gravel in a few day - weeks, but im concered about my senegal birchir. would it be ok with gravel as ive heard that they can choke on gravel.

Have a look in the local phone book for a pool cleaner.

I picked a 25Kg bag of pool filer sand up for £10. the grain is bigger than the stuff i see in the fish shops so when i gravel vac i can plunge the vac to the bottom of the sand and it will not suck the sand out (not that you need to). In fact i don't think my filter could suck it up if i wanted it to.

ok if there that big i might as well go with small gravel what carnt get sucked up.+

im going to take the sand out now and wait till i get the gravel.
