Nitrate Remover Filter

Hi a while ago I seem to remember someone here buying this nitrate remover

Just wondering if anyone had any reports on it? My tap water is really high with Nitrate so I need to sort something quick. I have tried plants but my Severums eat them and floating plants get sunk in the current.

Any help appreciated

Nitrate becomes toxic for most species at 400Mg/L, and I wouldn't be trusting a nitrate test kit either, they're so inaccurate they're only good for one thing - the bin.

Pretty sure it was and he found the active ingredient got used up very quickly.

Wills, have you tried Canadian Pondweed and Hornwort with your Sevs? Both are pretty tolerant of water current and I'm on the verge of trying to order a load for my 5-footer to rapidly use up any excess nitrates.

I've not looked into them in much detail, but aren't there products like "Nitrazorb" that can be placed inside external filters and then rinsed periodically in tap water to revive the gel/beads?

I've tried Nitrazorb before, didnt do anything for me personally & i think you have to revive them with salt.

Algae cannel. Works very well. Get that half tube shaped rain water catcher for house roofs. Close both sides and scratch it inside for algae to stay put. Fix it under the fish tank hood. Run water from your external filter from one side of the half tube to other side. Then put a dedicated tube lights and run it 16 hours minimum .

The half tube will be coverd in algae in days.. I seen it done in a 7 footer with heavily stocked discus. It had something like 15 ppm with ones a week 50% wc.
