NFL 2025

Sigh, I've watching football for a lot of my life including having season tickets to old Municipal stadium back in the mid 1980's.

Things have changed so much in the NFL in reference to what a drafted QB is supposed to do. Look at a couple of Cleveland's better quarterbacks... Brian Sipe was a 13th round draft pick and Bernie Kosar was also drafted in the later rounds; I think round 7 or there are some that say the Browns got him in the supplemental draft.

Shoot, look at Brady. If not for an injury to Drew Bledsoe Brady might be just a footnote.

Things have changed a lot in the NFL concerning the QB position. In today's NFL a team now tends to draft a college star QB and have him start right away to get an offense going. Personally I think this is garbage. If I were starting an NFL team my first offensive concern would be the offensive line. Second would be receivers and a decent running back. Now I have the tools for the offense so I can, now, look for a QB that will fit well with the offensive basics I've already accomplished. Too many think that the QB is the most important person on the field but it just isn't true. On offense the most important is the line especially the left tackle. On defense it is also the line.
Dude they are in a prime position if Rattler is anything and Shadeur is half that. 3rd round and 5th round rookie contracts.
My guess is Cleveland will win just enough to miss out on Arch and other top 5 QBs so they will.habe to stick with what they got or.draft another 3rd round QB in 2026?

Edit: I meant Dillon Ganriel.

Go lions go lions - poor Ravens... always misunderstood and confused with crows.

Such a dilemma! What am I gonna eat for Sunday NFL football? So far I've been having a rib eye steak and tater but I have a bit of a taste going on for BBQ chicken wings... Still I have a rib eye thawing. Hmmm, I think that I'll consider the wings the fins on a flying fish and do both & call it surf & turf. ;) Or mayhaps it could be called 'fowl' turf... ;)

As to actual football I obvious will be pulling for the Browns against Detroit and the Browns' defense is good enough to beat Detroit. Sadly, unless I missed something, Flacco will still be starting and he already has 5 turnovers in three games. :(

My Eagles have an early game against the TB Bucs. Beside rooting for my team, I'll need to decide on bar breakfast or lunch...& get up early enough to shower before. I think my game day outfit is still in the dryer. I hope I didn't wash off the luck, lol.

THE game to watch on Sunday is Ravens against the Chiefs at 4:25 ET. Ravens are 2.5 point favorites . Should be a great watch.

My Seahawks are 3-1. Just two more wins and we're guaranteed no to have the worse seasons I've seen them have, woot woot!

Time for Dillon Gabriel.
They DID put Dillon Gabriel in but with only about 4 minutes left and Browns down 34-10. They did the same thing against the Ravens. Personally I wish they would have put in Sanders today to give him some actual NFL game experience. Ya, Gabriel was drafted 2 rounds before Sanders but I think Sanders has more potential in the long run. I could be wrong but only time will tell.

And Flacco added a fumble in the second half to give him 8 turnovers in 4 games. Except for an unrelated defensive penalty and a drop by a Lions defender he would of had another 2 interceptions in the second half. If I remember right there were 3 other second half plays that could, easily, have been interceptions.

Flacco just has to go! He has no mobility and no touch on a pass anymore. He just no longer has the ability to perform on an NFL field. He should have retired at least 3 years ago. As to his mobility he ran 3 times today for a grand total of minus 1 yard.

I wish they had not signed Flacco again but had kept DTR (Robinson) if not going to start one of the rookies. I admit that DTR had some turnover issues when with the Browns but nothing like what Flacco is doing. Shoot, Flacco's 3 turnovers today directly led to 3 Lions scores.

Sorry for the rant but I'm a Browns' fan... We have earned the right to rant. ;)

Just finished watching cowboys packers game. Teams exchanged leads several times during the game. Game ended in a 40-40 tie in overtime. Highest scoring tie in history. One for the record books and a game of the year contender.

Grrr! I hate it when the NFL schedules over lapping games on Monday Night Football! This Monday they have the Jets and Dolphins starting and then Bengals and Broncos starting one hour later. I guess I'll watch the first hour of the Jets/Dolphins game then switch over to the Bengals/Broncos as the Bengals are in my Browns division and the Broncos are considered the local regional team. Ya, I can switch back and forth between games but it still bugs me. ;)

Sort of a funny thing with Monday Night Football... The league wanted Dallas in the first game but Landry blocked the idea saying that football was for Sunday and would not work on other days. The game ended up between Browns/Jets which the Browns won.

Of course I'm happy that Flacco is benched but don't know that it is the right week. :dunno: In my opinion it should have been last week.

What I'm thinking is that they are putting a young kid out there for his first NFL start and it is in London. Keeping in mind that Cleveland fans want results, they are putting a LOT of pressure on the kid.

Broncos/Eagles game now is on my local TV station (I only have antenna tv). Should be quite a competitive game.
And Pats get a chance to shine on national broadcast tv as they face the top notch Bills on Sunday night football.
