Newbie!

Hehe patient indeed!

I can't find sour skittles anywhere!!! Grr... :shout:

Anyhoo, have you taken delivery of your new apistos???

Nope, they're coming tomorrow *now who's impatient, eh?*
Just as well as i'm currently babysitting one of the missus' female fighters, we don't have a medicine tank and she needed some time away from the male, a bit beaten up. So she's currently terrorising the fish in my tank.
Hopefully she'll be well enough to go home tomorrow, so I can introduce my new apisto's without worry.

And I havent seen sour skittles around for a while now.

Aww no  hope she's ok. Maybe use a little breeding tank to keep them seperate if she's too poorly to go back home. Maybe the male's been wearing her out!! Hehe

So she's queen bee for the time being? Bless her fishie cotton socks!
Have you decided on names for the apistos yet? Would be lovely if you get them breeding :)

I have sour chewits as an alternative but it's just not the same

Well i'm setting up a breeding tank, but it'll be weeks before it's cycled and ready.

And definately queen bee, bossing my fishies around, lil' #28###.

Names.. No, I actually hadn't thought about it. But I will probably name them once i see their temperament and personalities, as I think every name should be fitting. And breeding <3 yes please.. I'd love some fry, watch them grow up, and then sell them at a decent price to get the cockatoo's out there!! hehe.

Wonder if I could sell them to one of the local fish stores.

Aww! That'd be soo cute!
If you pop them in a breeding tank then I would imagine there's a very good chance of them surviving. And generally I think they're v good parents once they get the hang of it a few times!

You'll be a multi millionnaire soon enough hehe. I'm sure your local shops would be more than happy to buy some :good:

One can only hope. I don't think P@H will order any in, but the bloke about 20 miles away may be interested (thats the second nearest store #128###).

Multi millionaire, unlikely, with my habit of buying bigger and bigger tanks and more fish, and the insane amount of food I eat (technically the worlds skinniest fat man, I swear)

If you can ship/post (whatever you fancy) them i'd have some off you! Lovely things and great for most community tanks too.

Skinniest fat man eh? I'll nod and smile with you on that one!!

Aww c'mon, i'm like 11 stone, and i've been kicked out of 2 all you can eat restaurants for eating too much.

And I may need to invest in some posting abilities, as you never know we may end up with betta's too.

And nice to know I have a potential customer before i even have the fish xD

Haha weren't chinese places by any chance? Nom nom nom...

Make sure your missus takes loads of pics if your bettas do end up with fry! I love the whole concept of a little bubble nest. Unfortunately my pearls aren't taking the hints yet

Was chinese actually..

And we're both camera snappy with our fish, so there would definately be pics. Unfortunately our male is a bit crap with bubble nests, we tried putting bubble wrap in to give him a head start but he did nothing.

Female fighter was picking on my lone apisto just now.. Who has now in turn started picking on the corydora's.. I think he's venting anger.

Horrid female fighter, she needs a good telling off.

 I actually just spilt my cuppa all over the laptop from laughing, reading your bubble wrap thing. Hehehehe typical man, not getting the obvious hints!
Pesky fish...

As for the female, she'll soon be put in her place when she goes back with the male. Hopefully anyway, unless she turns into the dominant one!

Heeeey, I never miss out on hints.
But I know what you mean xD

and after watching her in my tank, i'm starting to wonder if those missing scales and bitten fins aren't from an eager male, but from the poor guy defending himself. She's a mean lil' thing.

Oddly enough though, she ignores the bumblebee goby's. Maybe they aren't a threat to her dominance.

And sorry about the cuppa, my bad.

Hmm it's definately a possibility. A close eye on them when she returns is going to be required i think.
Those little gobies are too adorable. I saw some up in Bethnal green last week, i remember now. They're soo sweet
No worries, will have to go and pop the kettle on again. At least it wasn't a freshly brewed cuppa!

You're not one of these weird ones that drinks cold tea are you?? Sends shivers down my spine watching people drink cold tea, it's just not right

Very adorable, and surprisingly well behaved, they are supposedly fin nippers and territorial, but I never see even remote signs of aggression from any of them, even toward each other. They're also incredibly well behaved with my baby panda cory's.
Marvellous fish, cannot fault them in any way, most certainly my second favourite fish as of right now.

And I always keep a close eye on all my fish, it's like watching tv for me (which is why my tv hasn't been on in months). May sound sad, but I find it calming.

Haha i can't say I mind cold tea, but better hot with a hobnob or digestive :) That is, if the dog or chickens don't nick it first!

Baby corys? Aww! Piccies at all? Did you breed them in the tank or did you buy them as little nippers? Sounds like the cutest tank around!

I know what you mean about finding it calming. If ever i get into a barny I just sit in front of the tank and watch the fish mind their own. I swear I could spend hours at work just staring at the tanks...

One of the reasons I want to work in a fish stockists.

If you want I could try and get some pics of the panda's. They're still quite shy though.

And I bought them as babies, LFS keep getting them sent in so young they can't survive their tanks. So I took the entire last shipment (8 cory's) to grow them up to be big and healthy, and decide from there if i have the room to keep them or not. I can see it becoming a regular thing, i may becoe overrun with cory's haha.

It's certainly a mish-mash of species, completely random my tank, but i don't mind.

And hobnobs.. oh hobnobs, how I love hobnobs.
