hi i have a new tank (2nd hand) its a corner trianglar style, how can i find out how big a volume it is? Also im planning of having sand rather than gravel, it will be in my bed room so for a filter im after a nice quite filter so i can sleep and also barely hear it when in my room if at all hear it. So please leave your suggestions to my 2 questions here thanx.

P.S im sure there will be loads more questions soon as im new to tropical fish.

So it's like the shape of a quarter of a cylinder?

Measure the side and height in inches. (surface area) X (height of tank in inches) / 231 for gallons. If it's the shape is what I think it is then the surface area is (pi) X (side in inches)^2 / 4.

I'm not an expert on different filters,... just good luck on your search. :)
