New Tank Setup's.

Im planing on buying a new tank that would be 4x2x2 ft. It would be just over 100 UK Gal.

I was wondering if thats big enough to house the following sharks; 1 Baby red tailed, 1 Baby albino shark, 2-5 Baby bala sharks and a black shark?


ALSO is my tank now overcrowded? Its 2x1x1ft. 15Gal It has in it; 9" Common plec, 7" Bala shark and a 2" common plec.

NEW: Ive moved the larger pleco into a 30gal tank. I am buying a 6ft or 8ft tank within the next 2 months so there is no chance out any outgrowing.

Would any other fish go in the other tank too?

dont know about the 4x2x2

but yes your 15 gallon is deffinatly overstocked

I would say the 4 fter still wont be big enough long term.

You'll be needing at least a 6fter to keep those fish properly.

And yes the 15gal is VERY overstocked. What are you water stats like?

6.0 pH, 7 dgh, temp is at a costant 25c.

Hmm would it be overstocked if i took one of the plecs out and put it in my other 2x1x1 tank thats currently only housing a dojo loach thats about 4".

Well the 4fter would ideally be used for 6 months?

the plecs need atleast 5 foot tank

and same with the bala sharks they need 5 -6 foot tanks

I meant Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate readings. Also that pH is a little low for a hardness rating of 7...makes me think your nitrates must be pretty high.

The 4ft is easily much better than the 2fter. But could only be temporary.

Well im getting the 4ft tank next month then probably and 8ft tank 2 months after. They arent staying in that tank by any means.

bala sharks would need at the very least a 5ft but best to go bigger

black shark <do not go there i myself have seen 18+inch ones they grow huge and get a temper to go with size...

redtail black shark i have a full grown with my bala's and he does chase them around, would be fine if you had just the one redtail

black shark as a solo, thats my best reccomendation for you,staying away from all the other's...


also why would you not just buy the eight footer straight away?much simplier and saving alot of spending
