I have set up a 64 L tank as a snail breeder tank. Has sand and gravel substrate, two small filters ( 1x100L/h and 1x200L /h ) which can filter upto 150L together, a heater set at 22 degrees and a breeding shelf made from a plastic corner bath shelf, which seems to be holding to the tank walls well. In the tank I have a variety of coloured apple/mystery snails in gold, ivory, purple, purple stripe and Jade. Of varying ages from 1cm up to 1.4 inches and a Betta splendens male. Plants include 2xAnubias, 2xCryptocoryne and 2x Echinodorus species, and frog it floating atop water level, plus decorative stones and a Grecian urn.

The second picture is obviously the view from above to show the breeding platform, should the snails like it enough to use it
Any and all advise welcome thanks

I think you already know my suggestion...background! That shelf is really cool.

Nice little tank setup :)

The corner shelf seems a good idea, will watch this to see how things turn out with that idea.

Although does that tank have a lid with light fitting?

If so, then algae on that shelf might become an issue but if its a snail tank then might not be a bad idea to have that, depends on the algae obviously.

Be interesting to see this develop :)

Yes ch4rlie it has lights in the lid, shall keep an eye on it for algae growth, how ever I will say I am keeping that shelf dry so hopefully where there's no water there will be no algae. Cheers
