I was just watching my tank (like I seem to spend hours doing)

And Venustus chased one of my small orange zebras, the zebra leapt out of the water to escape and dissapered!

The lid is on the tank so he didn't jump out but he didn't drop back into the water..

I went to have a look and the little chap was beached upon the lid on top of the weir. (I have a Juwel 125l; with built in weir)

I have now glued a block of sponge onto the lid to take up all the room and prevent it happening again, its the second fish jumping problem in a week.

how about getting a breeding trap and using it as a sin bin when the venustus is upto no good?

That's a good way to get an even more angry/stressed venusuts. He's not being naughty just doing what male venustus do.

I've heard of others having problems with jumpers and juwels, good thing you saw it happen and was able to fix it. :good:
