Check out this euph solo. I don't even know if I could play this thing...it looks a level or two harder than the stuff I was playing in my semi-pro/college days. But...I wants it. Officially asking for this one for Christmas.

Wow I didn't realize those had such range on the low end. That's impressive!

I've never been able to play anything, with the exception of some limited success on a soprano sax. My brothers got all the talent in that arena, they can pick up just about anything and go to town.
I however, can make a recorder sound like I'm stepping on a cat. Which is why I'd like to try bagpipes someday....Imagine how happy my neighbors will be!:band:

It's dead easy to play that. All you have to do is go down to a crossroads at midnight, and look for a fellow with funny feet, a bad bad sunburn and a hooded cloak.

When I used to teach recorder playing to my kids, lesson one was always entitled, "How To Not Sound Like You're Torturing A Parakeet."

I know this is off topic, but since you mentioned it.....

I had a parakeet I taught to say "Walter is a d***head" and "Here kitty kitty!"
Walter hated coming to my place.
My Persian eventually came when called.

And so ended my brief foray into aviculture. Probably should have taught him to play the bagpipes instead.

That's actuelly the root note of the horn when all valves are down, but in that octave you can only play (when i remember my arrangement class well, its 15yrs ago^^) Contra E and 2-3 Notes higher.

By the way: I'm quite sure that fellow uses a potch correction 🧐
In the end, everything is playable, if you invest enough time, blood, sweat and tears ;)

It's just a higher Tuba. Same range as Trombone. There is actually a third instrument with that range called Tenor Horn 🤷‍♂️
And a really cute mini one called an alto horn!

By the way, I suspect he's using some pitch correction too. This guy claims to be playing a two grand horn, and it is darn near impossible to keep even a $10,000 horn that perfectly in tune, especially through all those crazy leaps. But with or without PC, holy SMOKE that guy can play!

@f_luxus Are you a euphonium player too?
No, I'm a professional Bassplayer. I had arrangement classes while i studied music.
Upright and Bassguitar for Jazz and Contemporary Music (BOA) from 2006-2011 in Saarbrücken (Germany).
I know that Instruments, because sometimes Trumpet Players play Euphonium or Tenorhorn when they can't find Trombone players.
I like Euphonium a lot, actually more than Trombone (no offense^^).
