New Fish Arrived :)

Hi,
Can somebody advise me on the best stuff to use to get rid of ich from this new fish?

Only one I know of is protozin, but thought I would check incase there is something more effective.

Also is aquarium salt any good for fighting ich? Can it be used alongside meds too? I've never used it before but that was the only response I got from a family member earlier.

waterlife protozin works well for me, i have heard good results using salt but have never tried it personally.

turn the temp up to 30 degrees C, protozin has worked for me in the past. also do a large water change and substrate vac. salt may be ok if the fish will tolerate it

I used Tetra medica Contraspot. Cleared out ich within 2 days. Recommended

Forgot to add - temp is up and for now I've added some aquarium salt. I've stayed at 1tsp for every 5gal but aren't sure wether that's a strong enough dose? Any further advise that anyone can give on this matter?

Hi, yes I did about a 60/70% water change with plenty of substrate vaccing

I would recommend esha exit for ick... Have you tried just increasing the temp and dosing with salt? Increase the temp to 30 and add salt @ 0.25g/L for up to 3 days after you stop seeing ick (white spot), this should work.

I have done as you have suggested already and still have an unanswered question on such actions within this thread.

lol alright alright must have missed that! Use the dosing I suggested .25g/L that is the same osmotic range and will do the trick.

Hi thanks for your help. But you're going to have to put that a little bit further into english for me Seeing as I've already done 1tsp per 5 gal what more do I need to add? That is 1 tablespoon per 5 gallon by the way.

Which I must add, along with a rise in temp doesn't seem to be preventing flicking

lol if you tell me how big your tank is I will work it out. Using salt will take a little longer to clear but should work fine...
