Bettawen................. hey i now have some more little uns, well almost, managed after your good tip to get him to spawn today, he didnt have time to build a nest, she was on him like a deprived maniac and with in 3 mins eggs were dropping so he planted them to the polystyrene, funny to watch b/c they kept falling and he would give them a hell of a shove to get them to stay there, about 60+ by the look of it, here he is


and if you would like to see what a male does to your beloved females during the spawning then heres a pic, she's a HM if your wondering!!!!!!!! put them together to get hopefully some red in the branching and to hold the steel rays. she looks so sad, can you see what looks like a tear in her eye? in recovery with some live food and melafix now

i have fry, well little wigglers, loads of them, he seems to be mouth brooding as well not the usual grab em give them a wash and spit them back out job he holds on to them for a long time and when they get out he catches them again, he defo not swallowing them as ive watched intensly and he's not putting them back in the nest either.

on another note my orange hmpk and copper sd(i know wierd combo but was just iterested in what i would get in F2) well they spawned today, she got all the eggs and put them in the nest, removed her and he just ignored the lot and they eventually fell out of the nest, the last thing i saw was him dozing on the base of the tank and eggs totally everywhere, it did cross my mind to take him out and leave her in there as an experiment but i didnt but wish i did as she was doing an excellent job, talk about sperm donor LMAO
