new boy off ebay today a blue marbel butterfly SD from ebay user "marlee" (theres more to the name i think but cant remember).

fish arrived well packaged but was dissapointed to find no heatpack was provided, and we have had snow storms all morning so its not like its warm out.
non-the-less, the fish arived safe and well, has been warmed up and is currently exploring his new suroundings. has minimal fin damage.
he does have a slight pink wash over the white bits of his fins... this concernes me a little.. is it just a wash of colour or is it somethng else?

anyhow... a top little fish and i have the perfect girl for him too :good:

as promised

:good:

i get my IAL of Marlee! may look at getting bettas there too!
he a tunner!
proably a red wash you get this sometimes hehe i have a blue boy with a red was so i have hesitated breeding him....

have contacted the seller about the red wash and im told most of the fish from that spawn had the red wash, as one of the parents was a red VT

Some of my marbled boys have a slight pink or peach on the white/cellophane parts of their fins, so I'd say it was just his coloring.

He's very pretty! :)

very cool. still looks a bit shy from the pictures

moved him into my new devided tank and him and my new CT had a major flaring match... and lo and behold, my super delta turns into a HM when he flares!!! :good:

OMG i soo nearly got him, but as i don't need another betta and have too concentrate on my genetics im trying not to get any more
aww hes stunning congrats!!

I'm new here, looking for some good advice, betta than I can get elsewhere ! Giggle !
I have a lovely make and 3 females in a tank which is about 1 ft x1 ft x 2ft. I know they really don't need this much room ! I have a heater in the tank , and plenty of hiding places. There is a filter, but I am not switching it on as I know they like still water. BUT how should I keep the tank clean & the water fresh ? Does anyone put snails or sucking loaches in with Bettas to do some clearing up ?

i think you should start your own thread, you will get better responses.. you should not keep males and females together unless breeding them, especialy in such a small tank. you should have the male on his own, and 6+ females in a tank togetehr, giving about 4litres of space per fish

Sorry I was slow to reply , my password kept getting kicked off !However.. crumbs, I thought this was a reasonably big tank...esp for Bettas.. i obviously have a lot to learn.
Thanks for the advice, I shall start a new thread . :)
