New Betta Is An Escape Artist!

he definitely is enjoying himself considering one of my guppies dropped her fry while I ran errands - I am sure he had a feast because when I got home there were only 2 left in the tank (that I could find)

As to a question Just_Another_One asked - in one of those stupid 1/2 gallon betta bowls!!! She asked me if I wanted it and I said heck no! I wouldnt even keep fry or and ADF in one of those!

Bad News!!!
I came home today to find that half of Neptunes fins had been ripped off!! The poor guy - so now he is living in the 3 gallon fry tank and the fry are floating in a large breeder box. (the fry are at most 2 weeks old tomorrow so it is not too cramped and they have plenty of water flow through the 35 gallon tank they are floating in

Is there anything I can do to help Neptune's fins heal / make him feel better?

water changes!
dont add meds. 90% of the time water changes are all thats needed. feed him as normal but add afew extra meaty treats here and there.
he is a gorgeous spade tail. never seen one where i live.
clean clean water is the KEY!!!!
cheers

Oh nooooo Neptune :( Poor guy

like lorax said keeping the water extra clean is the best remedy for loss of fins either from nipping or fin rot. I often add some aquarium salt to prevent infection as well. It seems to help heal better.

If you keep the water extra clean you should see new growth in a week and before you know it he will be good as new with his beautiful fins back :)

Clean water is the best healing medication around. Cheapest as well.
