ok...well lets hope my little fry stay on the right side of the border! I will be moving the betta over shortly....
Even though Houdini would make a fun name...I don't want to jinx myself by encouraging similar antics so I think Neptune is going to be his name...with his coloring it seems perfect
I bet you didn't think all this would happen when you agreed to take him in lol...bettas are so sneaky but you gotta love them he is soo happy to have a nice home now instead of being tossed in the toilet *shudder*
Wow this new guy seems like a sneaky one haha! Well bettas can be naughty sometimes iw as so shockede because last night i put 4 female bettas in his tank floating in there bags why i changed around there tank and he got really angry and started flaring like mad and nipping there bags so i put my hand in to get him out and he bit me! He bit my figner really hard, hes usually never brave enough to come near me never mind bite me. They can be buggers at times lol! watch your fingers!
Well he was a good boy last night and stayed on his side of the border...of course that could be because with the lights off he couldn't see the shapes of fish moving on the other side of the border....let's see what he does today! In a couple hours I am going to try and take a picture of him flaring for the first time for me!!
I had to rehome my guppys as my resident Betta (lunar) was getting nipped by them. I only had them for a week or so then rehomed them. Though i kept 1 as it was poorly, it had locked jaw.
Anyhoo, getting back on topic, my guppies were nippy.
i just watched. tbh i only ever had one problem, and that was when i added the boy first to my tank.
i just kept an eye on nipping, which never happened as everyone kept themselves to themselves, and shylo (my latest one rip) used to watch the fry in the breeding net
Seeing how introductions go! Have Neptune in a clear measuring glass suspended on the side of the tank to see how he and the guppies do seeing eachother but with the protection of glass
YAY!!!! Success!!! After having him in the measuring glass for a while, I took him out and put him infront of a mirror to get him riled up, then put the measuring glass back in the tank to see how he would react to the guppies after being provoked - he couldn't care less!!!
I added him and they are all reacting fine!! WooHoo!!!
