Ok here are few rubbish pictures of the tank with the new setup and the new LED's in place and on. Great for a moonlight setup if the blue isn't to your liking.

I like it mate! Love the rocks they go well with the gravel. I didn't think they would being nearly the same colour but I do like that alot!

Few more bits of wood in there will look great :good:. So your not planting this one?

Can't really mate with the oscar. Was thinking of adding a few bits of anubias and fern but was advised against it. :/

Just inherited a nice little tank, about 50 litres? :D

 OMG another tank? I want to upgrade! Well I want to keep the Trigon but get another tank 300L+. I live in a apartment though so I doubt I can lol. Although the floors are concreet and able to hold a bath etc just wouldn't want to risk it!

I wouldn't want another smaller tank than what I have now, limits to what I would be able to keep would be pants! I'd love a small salty tank, but too much hard work for me

How come you have been advised againts those hardy plants? :\. And what you going to use the 50L for??

Just got it cleaned it. It's half decent. It's a clearseal 18x12x12 with hood and a T8 starter, ballast and grow-lux bulb. Also has a small AquaRline filter. Has got a directional flow and can also turn it up or down. Just missing a heater but i have got a choice of heaters for it that i already have. It's actually 42 litres, so i am just going to move everything over from the 35 Litre 'nano' planted tank and maybe increase the Cardinals to maybe 6 or 7, up from 4. Would also like some shrimps for the bottom just to liven it up a bit. Got a nice bit of wood i have been preparing for a few days that i am going to cover with christmas moss and maybe add a bit of Java Fern on there somewhere too. Just seen a cracking Betta, he was yellow!!

As for the plants for the 4ft, i think the general thought is that the Oscar will move them about and also tear them up a bit, so not worth it. Matt has used some terrarium plants designed for reptiles etc so i may try them if i feel the need for greenery. About £8.50 in P@H. Chris has mentioned that his fake plants take a right battering from his Oscar.

My mate uses those plants, he brought them for his Bearded Dragon but decided to use them in his fish tank  they work quite well with his Oscar though.

Little tank sounds good, lighting will be good for those plants they will grow like crazy! I posted in the other topic. Sure Bettas are known for eating Cherry Shrimp so I'd make sure they have ALOT of cover. Plus they will hardly come out if they know they are in danger. Had the same problem in my old old tank. As for the Cardinals I would get 8 you'll be fine with 8, experianced keeper you know water stats, w/c etc... you'll be fine :good:

I'm still unsure on my nano tank. Betta or Shrimp setup ! Never kept a Betta so might give that a try.

Sounds great Scott. I may give the Betta a miss and go for shrimp. :good:

Can't wait for my O to grow, i am desperate to see him rule the tank :D JE's are still in charge

The Plec is making a good recovery from the vicious fin nipping from the Ellioti in the 180 and he is exploring more and more. Hopefully he will start to show signs of growing a bit more now.

Still undecided on final dithers though. :S

Love it mate, i would be tempted to try the anubias if i was you, while the oscar is little, cant hurt can it?

I like the sand too good job

Right, wimped out on the Anubias, but have put Christmas Moss and a small piece of Java Fern in there on the wood. Also added another piece of wood that i was going to put into my nano. Looks quite good atm, just waiting to see if the Oscar shows it any attention now or in the future. If it stays in tact then i will get a few bits of Anubias to add here and there too. If they do get battered then i can move them into the 180 planted.

No brainer really and best of both worlds. :)

Looks nice, are they running seperately? Would make a nice sun going down type light

Yeah, currently using them as a go between from lights off to lights on. The picture is really bad with reflections and looks better in real life.
