New 475L Tank... (It's Arrived!)...

Oh poor you, there is nothing worse than looking at an empty tank. Not long back I tore the muscle in my shoulder and I had a tank waiting to be set up. I was naughty just took loads of painkillers and got on with it

That tank looks ace. I have an ND tank, very impressed. Although the sliders always come off the slide rails. I can't wait to see what you do with scape wise. Its going to be fantastic.

Any updates on stocking, or is it as it was the last time?

Yea, it's massively frustrating! I just want to crack on and get it up and running...

As far as aquascaping, I've got a plan in mind, we'll just see how it goes. I'll take lots of pics for you lot, it won't be 100% from the off, I'll have a couple of weeks playing around with it to get it where I want it. Lots of wood, plants and hidey-holes shall set the scene, with a large wood centrepiece.

Stocking shall be as follows:

1 Red Dotted Severum
1 Rotkeil Severum
2 GBR
2 Cockatoo Cichlid
2 Umbrella Cichlid
10 Emperor Tetras
10 Cardinal Tetras
6 Leopard Corys
7 Sterbai Corys
1 Jaguar Cat
1 SAE
1 L177
1 L333

Quite a few fish, but only 2 large centrepiece fish and one large(ish) bottom feeder.

It will be a progressive stocking, I'm sure I'll remove a few fish into other tanks and add others.

Roll on Sunday! :hyper:

Sounds good. Although i think the Sevs will bully the apisto and rams and i would say a Jag cat would easily make a meal of a female apisto and probably a male aswell. IMO i think it would be best to decide whether you want Dwarf cichlids and smaller catfish or bigger cichlids and bigger catfish.

you must be very pleased with the new tank mate but at the same time fed up with waiting.......

many people have kept jaguar cats with tetras and small fish with success. these cats are only aggressive with other fish of the same species as i have found out  otherwise they are very quiet and tame :good:

my only thing with the stocking would be the GBR's. they need quite a high temp so make good tank mates for discus. looking at your stocking with the corys especially it may be either too high or low for certain species.

see ya sunday mate :good: pm'd by the way.

highly unlikely that the sev will bully the rams and apiostos , every sev ive ever had has been placid .

Thanks to everyone for your help, and a big thank you to Matt for holding onto my fish for me while I was getting my tank sorted...

Amazing tank. The Cockatoo Cichlid and GBR are to die for

Lovely fish Ryan, and that tank is nice and looooong

I especially like the cockatoo, great fin patterning/colouration on him!
