I'm expecting 10 Nerite Snails in the post soon but I suspect the ammonia may be a bit too high still.

(ph and nitrite tests were perfect).

Would an extra water change be any good?

What is the reading you’re getting from your teat kit? Is the tank new and cycling for the first time or has it been established for some time?

The readings ( forgot to make a note of them), according the the box ( NT Labs) were ideal whereas the ammonia wasn't quite perfect.

However I will make a proper note next time. I bought the tank end of Nevember last year.

Do a water change. Check the next day. If you have Seachem Prime, then I would add that once your nerite arrives, if your ammonia a bit high. Do you have another tank that you could temporarily put him in?

Can I ask how you've prepared the tank for its inhabitants? I read in your other thread that you are awaiting delivery of 10 nerites and hope to go fish shopping on Friday (in 2 days). The two ways recommended on here are either to use a lot of fast growing plants, wait until they are showing signs of active growth then add fish a batch at a time; or do a fishless cycle using ammonia.
Rushing too fast could mean ammonia then nitrite rising which is bad for both fish and snails.
