I Just got 2 really nice angels from petland for a resonable price they were supposed to be 32.50 but i got them for 12.95 because the people at petland got the tags wrong.lol
how long do you have to condition them for breeding? anyone know?

12.95 is is probably the most you'd pay for angels of that size. 32.50 is an absolute ripoff
they should be ready to breed in 4-6 months depending on growth rate.

Ya it was a pretty good deal... and i wouldnt have got them if the person working at petland relized the prices..




Still anyone know how long to condition angelfish for breeding?

how long to condition?

angelfish don't usually need any special encouragement to breed. weekly water changes and a good diet is all they need, but if you want them to grow faster...
up the temperature 28c as higher temps increase metabolism
twice weekly water changes (clean water encourages growth)
feed small amounts often, buy a flake or floating pellet that is high in protien (it should have a protein % on the label)
you want to keep their bellies round without over feeding, uneaten food brings down water quality.

clean water is the most important part

oh..ok cause i thought you only needed to fed them a brine shrimp diet for them to breed and a flat surface...lol i was way off

Is frozen BS good for them as live BS?

i'd say live is better but theres nothing wrong with frozen if its more convenient.

and what i said up there was to make them grow faster, but it would also encourage breeding once they reach maturity

P.S. the gray 1 is a little bigger than the marble 1.

well they look 1" yeah? they will probably reach maturity at about 2-2.5", i think mine were 2.5" when they first spawned.
they look 2-3 months old. so you'll probably have to wait few months before they pair (if male and female)

I just got a beatiful adult white female with Altum like fins...really long...it was supposed to cost £16 but they swapped it straight out for my Green Terror and male Convict

Ya they probibly are around 2-3 months...
I think they like eachother because they always stay with eachother in the tank.


R the males more aggressive than the females?


cause when im feeding them the gray 1 is always waiting for food and it eats almost all the BS i give my fish!!

both females and males can be aggressive. its usually who ever is biggest

k well i went to pet store tonight and they had baby angels only dime size!!!
i felt bad for them
and when i was looking at the other big angels i seen two striped ones cleaning eachother....is that like breeding behavior??
