She actually came out and sat long enough to get a pic at last. By far my most favourite fish in the tank.

Usually either hiding in a little cave, in the plants or likes to sit ontop of my co2 widget yawning as they do :)

Still not officially named, just affectionatly called "Turdfish" :p

has it got legs i have never seen one before, its like my old newt

No legs at all.

I think its officially still a 'fish' although a fair part of the breathing is done by "yawning" at the surface where they suck air from above the water into the gut where the oxygen is absorbed. Wierd things.. my gf hates it :(

i was real upset a few days ago coz mypet npaddle newt luke climbed out of his tank and i couldnt find him any where . i found him under my bed alll dried out!!! i feel sooooo guilty and sad. I did look for him but couldnt see him.

it looks like it has legs. who named him lol. i bet they are clever.

These are great fish, love them! I've gt x6 of them.

If i was you i would consider adding another 1 or 2, they are very sociable with each other in my experience (except with prawns, then i've learned it's every Rope Fish for him/herself lol)

More general shot of the tank.. sorry its crap but I cant seem to get a decent pic of anything inside my tank :(

Agreed, adding a couple more would prove wonders. They actually are a very social animal and it will become more active...at the LFS they have tanks full of Reedfish, resulting in very active and content fish :D

Maybe i'll get another sometime soon then. They aren't cheap though!

I've had a few problems with my tank recently, that I hope to have ironed out at last so once its all settled i'll look at getting another to keep her company :)

nice looking reedfish

I agree with above get a couple more if you can. I've got three and they are always out and abpout and definately first to the food. be conscious of them escaping they can get out of any hole. I can vouch for that losing the first two I had through a tiny gap

It looks kinda like a Senegal birchir to me :)
Lovely fish!

Anyone listen to the Presidents of the United States of America? There's a song by them called body, which tells a very similar story! Hope this doesn't upset you Gemzie  http://www.presidentsrock.com/lyrics/body.php

The fish is cool, my LFS always has them - what's his temperament?

Million: They are a peaceful fish but will take smaller fish...so plan your tank mates carefully! And as simonas says, make sure all your gaps in your aquarium hood are filled in...they will get out! At my LFS we find them on the floor wiggling about as someone left the glass shutters open after being in the tank!
Feeding wise, as you may imagine its stuff like tubifex, bloodworm, earthworms, mussel, cockle..stuff like that
