Great my youngest female guppy looks like she may have been fighting because her skin appears to be "flaking" off around her mouth and the front of her mouth looks to be missing.

I have seperated her to the smallest tank i have which is 2.7 gallons she has a filter. I have no spare heater but i know guppies can live in colderwaters. I have put her in the warmest place i can find and the temp is a steady 21*C. The filter is cycled and hopefully with regular water changes she will recover. In the tank there is:

A cycled filter.
A fine layer of sand.
A small sunken treasure chest ornament.

I have put a teaspoon of cooking salt in with her aswell as i was told this would help with healing?

Can fish eat cat treats?
I only ask because earlier i was in my bedroom and i was feeding my cat with some cat treats. I stood up to take them down stairs and i had 1 resting on my top without realising. When i stood up it pinged off my top into the tank (which had no lid on as i found out my guppies hate the lid). I had already removed the ill female but the others went mad and attcked the treat before i could get it out! I eventually got it out... well... half of it.

I know i guess the next few days will tell.
Ill female is looking better shes more active now but her mouth is still a little bit torn up i think i know what happened.
The male keeps pestering her and she turned round and nipped him once so he nipped her back but that ended there and then but if they started again it might not have stopped untill someone was hurt.

I forgot to mention while i was at my LFS they had just got some tinfoil barbs into their tank and were planning to get them into a diff tank ASAP because in the tank next to them was a fig.8 puffer. The reason they wanted to move them was because one jumped into the puffers tank and they had to remove it before the puffer got it. Also are corys know to jump? Because i found a lone cory in the puffers tank and i thought it a little bit odd that they had got just one in there. So i kep watching and it was alive but it the front of it's face was missing including barbels and all.

Just to ask how do i change my member title?
I have seen other people with different member titles but they only have like 5 dots or something.
Oh and my female guppy that had a torn up mouth is doing good and is back with the others as her mouth has healed well but not completely yet. She can now officialy close her mouth properly again and the flaking has gone.

Yeah she is swimming around more now and not hanging out at the filter as i had realised she had been doing then i noticed her mouth so i seperated her straight away.

nice move.i finally put 2 of my fry in with the adults yesterday,well one, and when i noticed it wasnt getting attacked i put in the other one. they get chased sometimes and get nipped but they dont get any marks to show it.when the lights r off they can pass by one without even getting looked at.i might put the rest of the older ones in with the adults

Well my fry are only about 6 days old but some of them already have black fins like their mother. The are almost see through but then you can see the little black fins but no black tails yet. They are about this long now ___ so still not big enough to go with the adults but they are deff growing quickly. I think all the regular water changes has done it as my cory fry shot up when i put them in the 5.5 gal tank. My little snail isn't as little anymore hes about this big now ____ when i found him he was this big __ hes doubled in size.
