Mutant Betta?

Hey guys. My neighbor has a crowntail betta in a small tank. I know those guys grow to only be about 3 inches but his is 6 inches!

Is that even possible?

It's probably a Giant Betta. Unfortunately I don't know much about them, someone on another forum was selling some not long ago.

Basicly the same. I believe they suffer health problems and dont live as long. I would say giant betta to. You can buy them online direct from Thailand.

I was scrolling through some sites last night (I'm looking for a halfmoon) and came across a site that sells "fighting fish"  for $95 they were a heavyweight class, bred for fighting i assume and was almost double the size of a average Male Betta!!

Betta Akapes in Thailand do both halfmoon and plakat giants for between $30 and 50$
