Mts And Spouses That Just Don't Understand

LOL that could really really backfire on him tho!!! lmao too many nights in drunk and he's out on the curb with fish flopping around his feet....

and the whole asking questions as emotional manipulation...er...don't you know women are experts on that..she'll see it coming a mile off!

Dunno...i have a problem with my bf and i haven't even started properly yet!! 10 gallon..3 gallon and tomorrow the BIG one gets here..he says it's pointless. I told him it's not pointless it's my angermanagement. If im busy with doing something else then i won't moan at him. The guy bought it for a few mins and then started in with the whole 'it's pointless' thing :|

Luckily, he's just a bf and it's not too late to trade him up.

What does he mean by "it's pointless"..... sounds pretty darn pessimistic to me. I can't believe how much more relaxed I am since we got our tanks up. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... :fun:

Ha! Women enjoy thinking they are the masters of emotional manipulation but it is not necessarily true, be subtle.....

LOL two years later and i havne't traded him in yet..either im crazy or he's a good one..not sure which yet :hyper:

He just says it's pointless :| I know we're moving house in 2 months time, but it doesn't hurt to get everything together so that when we do move we can get started and when we're settled we'd have something nice to look at and appreciate and enjoy. He's weird...he's male..need i say more. I think he's worried im gonna kill more fish

'nuff said..... :p

Ok, now here's the part where I lose my status as your new best friend..... your bf does make sense when he says "hey, we're moving in 2 months, not a really good time to set up new fish tanks." Get the tanks, get all the stuff you need for them.... but, with the exception of your 3 gallon, don't get the fish for any other tanks. It really doesn't make sense because you'll just have to cycle all over again and it'll stress your fish out all over again. :look:

Women enjoy thinking they are the masters of emotional manipulation.....

Um.... yeah, I totally and completely agree with this statement..... :good:

I ain't setting up..im just collecting as it were..so that when we did move..things could progress..no way would i try to move a already running tank that big!!

but yes...i see his point..but he don't see the point in the 10 gal (which is temporarily retired till move) and also the 3 gallon :| ah well guess im gonna have to tell him no next time he wants to buy new parts for the computer or for his car stereo :hyper:

Get drinking!!!
:drink:
Come home drunk every night for a week and see where she'd rather you put your effort.
Puerile but effective, and fun too....

lmao

i just discussed setting up another tank with Ian when we convert our loft to a second bedroom next year, he wants to finish teh house before we do as apparently we haven't time to maintain another tank. bah, soon as the loft is in a fit state to house a tank i'm on the wine everynight

Sounds like she is jealous. Women tend to get a bit pippy if they are not the centre of theirs hubbys attention. They enjoy being the be all and end all. Annoying situation you are in. I agree with the others though, try to get her involved or be more involved in her hobbies (if she has any) I think then she will be more accepting of yours.

Explain to her that MTS is a very serious illness and the only way to get over it is to go with it and get as many tanks as you can till its out of your system :sly:
Every time my worst half buys another boat or bike part i turn it into an opertunity and get another couple of fish or peice of equipment and if he upgrades them i try and sneak in a new tank, he can't say much then cause he knows i'd moan about his new bike, He doesn't understand my love of fish, just doesn't get it at all.
You could also pretented that your fish are rare and if you breed them you can get lots of money(very naughty, but if it works :sly: ) they will soon realize they've been duped but by then you could have 3 or 4 more tanks  .

I have that problem with my wife. I raised the point that i Don't Drink (Ever) Don't Smoke and don't do drugs. And it worked for a While untill she found Ebay+LFS Receipts       :grr: :grr: :grr:
It did become strained when i had to move back in with parents due to my il health.

Dad has now sorted the problem by buying me 2 4 foot tanks with cabinets that comfortably fit a 5-10 gallon in the alcove within. No more fussing with lots of little tanks, and Far less maintenance required with a large tank.
They dont even notice the small tanks in the alcoves.

Also it helps that the rest of my tanks are outside in the back garden, and they dont get noticed Hidden by Evergreen Plants and Bushes. Even though they are 200+ Gallons each.

So even though i have a combined Gallonage of Over 1000+ Gallons, it works out nicely.
