I have to re-home a molly with a friend of mine who lives about 15 miles away. I don't have any fish bags & wondered if something like a tupperware box could be used to transport the fish instead?

Sure, just be sure there's plenty of air as well as water. Try to keep the container insulated from temperature changes and keep it dark.

Thanks Waterdrop. I have a 4.5 litre container (the fish in question is only 1.5 inches) & a black insulated bag to put it in.

A fish that small could be moved in a well cleaned jar or a freezer sized bag. The only thing to be concerned about is that the is enough air in the bag. Without the air, the water will quickly become short of oxygen. In our club auctions, the instructions for sellers suggest 2/3 air and 1/3 water in the container. A molly should be fine for temperatures as long as it doesn't drop below 70F, 22C.
