Is double sided tape toxic to fish

Is your light water proof or will condensation (which will also break the bond with velco or tape) destroy them. Also why is your lid black ?

It's a hygger 12 inch 8w submersible full spectrum light I got on Amazon

Be careful some plastics are brittle and will crack if stressed.

Or I could tie it with fishing line by poking holes with thum tacs then tying the fishing line to the light to give it extra hold support with the suction cups

Do you have a candle, a (construction) nail and a pair of plyers? If you lit the candle, use the plyers to grab the nail and hold it to the flame for 30 seconds or 1 minute, then you'll be able to push the nail through the plastic lid quite easily. That said, I doubt if the light will last very long when the humidity is close to 100%.

I decided to just tie it with two sets of fishing lines and it holds but thanks all for the input

Is it a glass lid, if its plastic lid drill 4 holes two either side of the light, and use plastic ties, maybe better if you mentioned what material the lid is made of.
