Breather Bags - Leave an air bubble or not?

Corydoras
If the people who want the fish are after Corydoras, they will need double bagging, and they can sometimes spike each other in the bag so only put a couple of Cories in each bag and try to lay the bags down on their side so there is more room for the fish (less chance of spiking each other).

Thank you for such a detailed and extensive reply Colin, it's really helpful.

I'm actually just reducing the number of tanks I'm going to keep, as things are getting busier for me. I want to just have one decent sized tank (my 280L) and do it really well, and keep really good care of the fish. At the moment I've got two of that size and a smaller one. Now that I'm a little busier it's not as easy to give them the level of care I want to. So I'm going to reduce my number of tanks instead of the quality of my care 😁

I'll be rehoming my school of around 20 corys, I can double bag those in the regular type of bags. I'll put the barbs and the schooling fish I'm rehoming (pencil fish and rasboras) in the breather bags.

Actually about floating the breather bags, that makes so much sense! Of course they wouldn't float unless you removed some water and added air to the bag, silly me 😂

Well, that guy who suppose to know his stuff is incorrect. I use breathing bags as well. It's complete nonsense what he's claiming about breathing bags.
Yes, I was thinking that was the case! I trust the word of the people here far more than anybody working in a fish shop.

Thank you for your reply too, it's very reassuring to hear

A lot of aquarium fish store owners and even their staff lack a good knowledge within this field. They call themselves specialist simply because they're commercially active within this field. You don't have to know everything but once someone calls him- or herself a specialist, I expect the correct info.
