I dont know, that betta is awfully pretty, but then so is Martha,

wrs, it's not so much the pretty factor as Lucky's story.. being found as a tailless little guy all sick in a cup, and progressing into the beautiful thing he is now, esp. with his tail all grown back when most of the betta forum thought it would never happen! That's what makes him so loved.

Martha's cute, I'll definitely give her that. But Lucky's become kinda special to me, through all of his progress I hear from BM while chatting with her. Lucky's got my vote. ;)

GO MR.HANKY!!!!!
I dont want to be suspended, and i worship CFC every saterday at 5pm.

GO COOKIE and MARTHA!

Pitty i couldnt vote twice.....aint that the way it always is...... :-(

All the fish nominated are great fish with lucky and unlucky storys to tell, although martha and lucky kind of leave the other competicion in the shadows. If i could vote for them all though i would because they also desearve it :)

Go Martha! Yea!

Hey guys don't forget Martha did not come out of the best of circumstances either. Her story just adds to her looks. She's really come a long way.

Well i dunno about you guys but i think growing a whole new tail from scratch after coming from appaling conditions is a quite a miracle- go Lucky  !!

Poor Mr Hankey, a victim of not having a brilliant PR campaign behind him :-(

Mr Hankey was one of 3 dwarf electric catfishes sent to the lfs by mistake as part of a West African shipment. The shop didnt know what to do with them and as sending them back wasnt a option all 3 were placed into the same 24x18x18" tank where they promptly shocked each other continuously until all 3 had serious burns on their skin, electric catfish should never be housed together. The other two e cats soon died leaving Mr Hankey alone in the tank so the staff moved him to one of the smaller 18x12x12" tanks as he was taking up too much room for a single fish, they also stuck a unrealistic price of £40 on his tank which too high as he was mislabled as a Malapterus electricus (common electric catfish) and no one could him see because his tank was at floor level with no lights. Several times i mentioned buying the fish but my mrs wasnt keen on having a fish that could stun a horse in the front room.
Then this year just after christmas the shop decided to have a huge sale to clear a lot of the stock that had been around for a while and Mr Hankeys price was slashed down to just £12, a price that was too low to resist, so i bought him and took him home. We soon discovered that Mr Hankey was full of character and that the whole time the tank lights are on he sits at the front of the tank waiting for some food or attention, he only goes back to his cave to sleep when the lights go out so by the lfs keeping him in permament darkness his character had been completely subdued.

So come on VOTE Mr HANKEY who could resist this little face :-(

Sorry to be dim, but what's Martha's story again?

By the way, Mr Hankey is adorable CFC! :)

I actually voted for Mr Hankey as I didn't think voting for your own fish was fair play.

Martha's Close Shave:
Martha came from the same batch of fahakas in the same tank at the same grotty store as Cookie, but we got her three months before when they're only had the shipment a few weeks and hadn't yet had chance to do too much damage.

Martha was one of the smallest in the tank, but she was eating a mussel while we watched so we decided to have a fish that we'd seen eating rather than her bigger, more colourful tankmates who were sulking in corners.
Martha had a bite on her flank and a ragged caudaul fin from attacks by her tankmates but was otherwise seemingly healthy.

Of course, if we hadn't bought her she would have almost certainly ended up like Cookie- bullied, diseased and starving.

So Martha, like Cookie was saved by us and now rewards us everyday with her beauty and her smiling, cheery face.

Here's a link to the thread we made the day we got her.

lol Sir, but she didnt actually end up like cookie, who I am supprised doesnt have alot of votes.

Martha will have time later in life to win, and dont puffers live longer than bettas? You should let Lucky shine whil he can.

But Martha is winning now anyways, but only by one point.

what a close race!
