Mites

I've noticed there's a load of little mites just above the water line of my orb tank. There are so small they might even be ants. I can't see them that well.

I've never seen such things before & the only thing I can think of that I've done differently recently is use Liquifry 2.

Has anyone any idea what they might be? And if so if they know if they are harmful at all? The tank is currently full of swordtail fry.

Also I started using Hikaru First Bites just before I notice the mites. Could some of that food be the eggs of these mites?

There's lots & lots of them now, also living in the tank hood. I hope they don't leave the tank altogether.



Anyone any ideas what they are and how to get rid of them?

I get them in my tanks too, I did ask a while back, they are harmless just a nuisance, I just ended up wiping all around the rim of the tank and the hood each week they soon dissapeared.

OK, thanks. I think I've seen some on the plants under the water now.

I have been putting on a rubber glove and wiping all the surfaces they are on that I can reach. They seem to be able to jump onto the water surface & escape. This is war, haha.
