I hope this will be an enjoyable journal for all of you to watch. As of know i have ordered the ADA mini m which is 36cm X 22cm X 26cm/ a little over 5 gallons. I am planning on making it an iwugami setup with hair grass backround and glosso foreground. I bought ADA aquasoil Amazonia today and also bought some rocks. I will be ordering some glosso tonight and buying a heater and filter tomorrow. Any suggestionson the filter? Here Is an outline of what I am hoping it to look like.

I just ordered to of what I guess are clumps of glosso and will be shoppingtoday and trading in cuttings at a store near me.

Here are the items I have as of know I will be buying the full spectrum desk light from walmart probably monday because my tank should be here tomorrow or on Monday because it is only being shipped from a few 100 miles away.

I have a ton of HC i got for free because a guy was going to throw it out but it is harder to grow so I am using glosso which should take off faster.

The tank has not shipped yet but should by Thursday.

Sounds good.

On the hardscape side, if it's not too late you may want to get another rock as rock formations always look better with 3 in aquascpaing, however I'm sure you'll manage to pull it off smoothly regardless.

probably some neons and amano shrimp.

While I am one to bend and even break stocking rules on occasion, I think neons are a might big for 5g. They do best in larger groups and unless your tank is very long, I don't think 10 neons are going to look quite right in a 5g. It's not a matter of over-stocking, but more of an aesthetic. You can get neons very small, but they'll eventually grow and become too heavy-bodied, IMO, for such a small system. Better to go with a more slender rasbora, especially if you are going to put such an effort into the scape. No sense going through that much trouble only to have the effect lessened with inappropriate fish. Now, I've got cories in a 2.5g, but this tank is not a serious scape. If you can get your hands on them, I really recommend a Boraras species, either Brigittae or others. Very slim, and a school of 12-14 would probably do very nicely in a tank your size and will give you a better illusion of greater size. Most of these species also sport a stripe and a deep orange color (under good conditions) which would highly complement a scape of mostly hairgrass and your foreground.

If it had been over 10g, I would have highly recommended neons once the tank had matured, as their coloring is pretty for iwugami setups.

Ya I agree with you lljdma. It probably is to small. I will probably also break one of the bigger rocks so that I have 3 because they are pretty big. The tank should have shipped yesterday or today and it is not shipping that far from me so it shouldn't be that long until it arrives.
