Microgeophagus Ramirezi - Blue Rams

So here is a video of her or him.

Nice ram you got there! I just happened to take a vid of my "powder" blue rams, which are a gold ram bred back into the electric blue rams. Id have to say because of the intense color on your ram its an electric blue.

Picture time.

after only recently convincing my better half to get the upgrade......RO is a LONG way off.

lal, i told the wife my last 6 clown loaches came from a friend at work for free .... :D Where there is a will, there is a way!

Looks like it's *probably* a female.

[Since someone was asking towards the start of the thread and I couldn't see if anyone mentioned already, but the common name for the species is blue ram (some people prepend "German" because they were first imported into Germany) and the colour morph is usually known as "electric" or, slightly less commonly, "powder".]

If your tank is 3 ft long, a total of 2m 2f is likely to work in the long term (you'll need to add more décor though). To get a pair, it is best to get 6 juveniles (aiming at 3m 3f) and let them pair off on their own.

Do females square off to each other? Cos Sapphire (yes her name) did with the other fish same as her in the shop.

Tank is 2ft long so won't be having two pairs. The plants will grow up yet and a slate cave is on order.

Mine always have. I actually find that my females square off more often than males do, but usually, there is no physical contact. The males tend to just follow what their female does, although I am sure other people have had it the other way around too.

Ahhh we thought male automatically. No contact was made they just flared at each other and then went about pushing the blue tetra out of their way

Well the other lfs I use (dedicated fish shop) is expecting some baby ones in from a customer so my name is down for them to call me when they arrive in.
