Hi guys,

I have a 64l tank thats fully cycled and I'm having issues with micro bubbles/dusty specks. I've got a ziss airstone in the back corner of my tank on the lowest setting possible and a fluval u2 filter on the opposite side of the tank with the flow on the top with just enough to ripple the surface. My tank is well planted but I can't seem to get the water crystal clear. I've cleaned the filter, do regular 25% water changes (weekly) and clean my gravel once every 2/3 weeks. Any help would be appreciated because I've watched loads of videos on YouTube, but can't seem to get it clear. Thanks in advance!!

Have you tried running a 2nd internal filter with nothing except polywool?

Polywool will polish the water crystal clear after a couple of days running it (depending on flow rate of the filter used). Here's a budget 'hack' from Joey

What's a ziss airstone?
Do you have a picture of the tank/ bubbles?

Fine air bubbles can cause issues to fish and look annoying.
Multi-coloured plastic airstones produce bigger bubbles and can be taken apart and cleaned. Thus lasting a lot longer than normal airstones.

External power filters that are leaking can pump fine bubbles into the tank.
