Poor you I have the tl550 and am keeping sps lps and some super growing softies, however i did need to splosh the dosh to modify it to get it up to scratch:

1.Changed protien skimmer to tunze nano DOC
2.Bought two powerheads (koralilia nano and 1) are you sure you have enough flow? my clove polyps love being blasted!
3.Changes the PC lights to a 150w metal halide.
4.Put heater in display section (this may be your case too) I found that not enough flow was getting through the back chambers and cooling down in the display too much.
5.got LR rubble in the back and employed a 3 inch DSB in the display, This was to help nitrates that when i got the tank and fish second hand shot to over 250ppm!

I have a regal tang in my tl550 currently but i would recommend for you to get some macro algae in the display whoch will help get rid of some pollution (if any)

Also fish wize i would recommend

Thanks for the reply and help, my 550 is standard and from what i have read its ok for the things i have in there, my mushies are amazing and know they are hard but the others just die! I was expecting my gonipora to die as its hard to keep but thats ok if a little emotional  . It just does my head in when everything seems ok (tests) and if it was 1 i could say oh well thats marine for you but all 3 and they arent the hardest to keep. . I would like to upgrade skimmer and night leds if possible but depends on money. My heater is in the back compartments and temp is constant and good. All fish are good and although i had bad reviews on the bi colour angel i got one thinking my chances were 50/50, my mate had 1 (lfs) and said he was well behaved and i could always take him back. He has been great he leaves my corals alone (what i have left  ) and adds colour to the tank and is loving it! Long may that continue as it only been a week but with my luck  . Oh and i have a feather duster as seen in picture doing fine also!

Matty your tank is looking very cloudy, is that just the photo? Also, can I urge you to slow down on your stocking - patience is a virtue

Yes just the photo although i one of my powerheads slipped and blew straight into the sand a little while before everything ok now. I have not stocked to quickly i dont think  . My 4 fish have been spaced out for 6-8 weeks and as for corals there is only 4 in there and well over 8 weeks, think the journal makes it seem closer than it was. Going to leave it for a while now anyway. :good:. By the way water changes done regular and tests also. Everything is checked and fine. :good:

Hi been on the forums for a while but not updated my journal for ages so thought i would just add a few pics! However i have just moved and changed my phone and cant work out how to use it! So i got the camcorder out and that was easy but the quality is rubbish! Thought you all would want to see anyway.......

Its looking good, whats your stocking now? Did the move go ok?

Seffie x
The move went as well as it could do! Thank god! Stocking is 2 x clowns 1 x bi colour angel 1x hawk and 1x strawberry basslet. All doing fine and its maybe on the verge of over stocking but all tests are fine and fish get along well 99% of the time and it been like this for a while now. I also have 3x red hermits (small) 1x BIG HERMIT (see pic) which was a mistake by a shop, 1x cleaner shrimp 4x turbos and a couple of other snails like bumblebee (hitchhikers). Various corals 2 different mushies, torch and leather. Needs to be re jigged after the move but wanted it all to be settled first.

Should have updated a long time ago! Not going to say to much as nothing has happened really. Stocking all the same as above except that i no longer have a cleaner shrimp  and replaced it with a boxer! :hyper:
Will try and post pictures if i can remember how!
