sorry simone
but without acception, your angel and that many neons (they may be small but they are in a large school) will NOT survive for long
you may have taken cheese's comments offensively but i assure you she ment no harm
she speaks only the truth
she's just a little more forward then most people are use to right cheese? ;)

but what you have on your hands is a big problem!
your tank is far-far too small as it is!
either give your fish to a good friend for safe keeping until you can find a sufficient tank for the angel and neons or just give them back to your lfs
they should get a slap on the wrists for ever providing you with those fish for such a small tank in the first case! :grr:

what you need to do now if you want to keep them is buy at LEAST a 30 gallon or your fish WILL suffer
perhaps a little more research is required?
but in the long run if you find even a temporary home for your fish, you'll be saving their lives
then when your tanks are cleared get back to us or pm me and i will give you some great ideas to stock your eensy weensy 5 gallons beautifully ;)

but PLEASE find those fish a better home (bigger tank) on way or another
flushing them, tossing them or keeping them in the 5 gallons are all horrible deaths :-(

Ahh, I like that. Praise indeed!! ;)

Not so sure about this bit though:

Ha ha!! Of course I am forward, I think it's a Scottish thing. Anway, sometimes there's just no point faffing about.

:p

I dunno, it's a pretty small tank.  I wouldn't advise mollies or platies in, maybe guppies.
D'oh yourself!
At that point I was not aware that there was going to be a betta in the tank. I may have not read right or whatever but either way I did not know. If you read on, you will also find me saying that I would not put any of those fish in a 5 gallon never mind you recommending 2-3 guppies with the betta in full knowledge.

:/

hehehe

i hardley understand what i am saying

 @ PK, you sure do crack me up!!!

Maybe you need to make that sign for my (or your?!) signature?!

Edit: lol, I didn't mean that 'crack' pun by the way. Dad humor was not intentional!!

How long do you think I have had them for?

Too long. :grr:

Will you ever just accept it? It's ok, everyone makes mistakes but it is important to learn from them. Especially when there are animals' welfare involved.

We are all learning

i have no idea
but that has no effect on the fact that they cannot survive in a 5 gallon
the longer you've had them in there, the sadder the story
if you've had them in there more then a month then i'd say (sorry) thats not looking very good on your part
i have no idea how old you are but a mature responsible person should have done their homework before aquiring a live creature
and a 5 gallon is a rediculous size for the fish you have
i only hope that your fish are still babies otherwise you are stunting the angel as we speak and your nitrate will be through the roof!

sorry to sound so blunt but your comment just rubbed me the wrong way

Well I have had my angel for about 1.5-2 years and my neons for 4-6 months I think.

It depends on the betta and the type of guppies. I've done it before. Some people say also say never mix angels and neons, but many do it with success.
