I'm planning on revamping my setup soon, so I'm looking at acquiring some tanks for my goodeids. I'm just unsure what sizes would be best I thought 2ft tanks particularly as I plan on adding more livebearers in the future. I would be keeping each species in its own tank rather than mixing them.

When I kept Goodeids, I used a lot of 2 footers, but larger tanks also worked well. I never had more than 4 species going at a time, and always prefer larger tanks if there's space.

@fish48 ? @emeraldking ?

It depends on what type of goodeid you're planning to keep to estimate a good tank size.

At the moment currently Characodon Lateralis Los Berros and Guadalupe Aguilera, with the option of adding some Allotoca goslinei or Diazi soon and maybe some Xenotoca later on.

Well, Characodon lateralis are small goodeids. Those don't need a very large tank. But your plan to add more goodeids, which directs you to a bigger tank. And all goodeids mentioned overhere are reasonably friendly goodeids.
