good customer sevice wold be giving someone who paid 400some-odd bux on an aquarium at your shop a half a cup..... dude it seems logical to me ... that wold be good customer service... dose that compute

your acting like i expec free stuff everywhere?? this is so stupid i cant beleve you dont see how that wold be great busines practice..... respecting a customer who obviously has spent sooooo much money at your store by giving them less than $1 worth of gravel??

i know im right in this case...... do you see what happens when you dont give a customer there way?? they come on forums and ***** about the service they receved.. obviously the person who started this thred was upset with the service they receved and are now "slandering" petsmart.... do you see how that works??
if the guy wold have given them 1/2 a cup of gravel this woldnt have happend....

also you have to figure in the silent majority.. and all the people who are unhappy as it is and dont do anything till they see threds like this... then threds like this make them stop shoping at PS and in turn could have costed PS $100s of dollars.......

Cmon get over it, when the last time u went gas station got something for free or supermarket, they are in it for the money first. IMO that is okay.

when was the last time you spent $400+ at a gas station? $400 at a super market better get me some discounts and usualy does with cupons and club cards.... witch yes are factored into teh price of teh goods but you still get saveings when you buy big....

BTW cheveron gives you a free drink when you fill your car ......

First off I already said I agree, however, I am not mad if they dont cause I would notr expect it.

Secondly,

How many big sales you think they get like that a week?

Many LFS depends on every little sale.

I.E I would rather be gas station selling 150 people a day with 10 bucks of gas a piece.

How many fish tanks do you think they sell a week. Big chains or small. (400 dollar tanks, not 10 gallon)

Now if they dont give things away I am not mad at them, so what if we *****. People complain bout Petsmart, Petco, Walmart, and other places. And you know what? They keep shopping there.

I have a great LFS who gives things away and give me discounts at register after they tell me $100, I have $100 out and then they say hold on I will give you 20% off give me $80.

It feels good, and I totally understand the argument, but if they stop doing it, I would still support them, cause it is hard competing against Walmart and big chains.

Its business, I am sure that $400 buck tank was better deal than any other one else could have gave them, maybe thats how store is looking at it. Either way it is business.

An 125 gallon with stand, glass tops and lights.

Cmon, I have gotten quotes for 800 and 1100.

That is super great deal. I paid little more for my 75 gallon set up with canopy.

So you know what forget the gravel.

maybe im just quick to say "pull it out" when a chain store is bending me over......

my original point was... this is from the first post now.... dont settle for no when you know your request is within the means of the store. i was only defending my veiw and trying to get you to see my side of things.... i know giveing things away is a 2 sided sword.. on one hand you need ot make the customer happy and on the other you need to make money....

have you ever herd the saying "the customer is always right" its a good one to live by... trust me.. my whole family works for the largest chrystler delership on the west coast one of my parents manages teh parts depot.... one day i was talking to the owner and he told me that saying (not the first time ive herd it) and it makes sensce becuse you make your money with teh return customer.... there delership got to be as big as it is becuse they have more return customers than any other chrystler dealer in the country. the reson behind this is becuse they bend over backwards... the customer buys a car and wants some floormats ... free... they want the car detailed agan ... free.... meanwhile all tehse things taht cost teh delership nickels and dimes stacks up to be a fortune in the eyes of teh customer.......
