Kissing Gourami Mouth Clamped

hello everyone l am new to this, yesterday we bought new gravel and cleaned it out as much as possible and even though it had a funny smell we went ahead as it was from a respected and good pet shop anyway all the fish are fine except 1 of 2 kissing gourami , their lips are clenched together even though hes trying to open them the other one is fine. Nitrite ,Nitrate and Ph all showing ideal, l dont want to do a water change or clean out the filter with the gravel being new as it may take out the good bacteria, l have put in some Melafix. but wondered if theres anything else l can do to treat them if anyone could help l'd be very appreciative , thank you

what are your exact Nitrite ,Nitrate, amonia and Ph readings ?

Hi,
How long has the tank been seet up for? how did you cycle it?
did you previously have old substrate and change it over?
what are your exact water parameters?
how long have you had the fish?
you wont be removing much of the good bacteria from the tank if you do a water change, I would go ahead with the water change, if your tank is cycled and has been up and running for a while then there should be sufficient baceria in there....
when cleaning the filter use old tank water also.
how did you clean the gravel?
