I've always been interested in keeping discus but I don't know a whole lot about them or how to keep them. Can someone provide me with some info and/or give me a link?

There's 3 to get you started.

Thanks for the info! What would be the minimum tank size and number of discus you could keep?

20 gallons for the first, then 10 gallons for each one after. That's adult fish. Juveniles can be kept at one per 5 gallons, just thin them out as they grow, until you have the ones you want.

I personally wouldnt put discus in anything less than 40gallons. And thats for juveniles. If you plan on keeping then to aldulthood (which I prosume you are), you would want to be putting them into something around the 50gallon mark.

I have 3 juveniles at 3" and a small sub-adult at 5" in my 4foot 54gallon tank and ideally, they would be better off in a bigger tank to be honest (pity I live in a shoe box and have a not so understanding better half, or I'd get a 5/6footer).

Thanks for the info guys. I've read that they like to be kept in groups, if so how many (minimum) should be kept together?

They should be in groups of at least 6. The more the better.

Do plenty of research before getting them.
Although they aren't as difficult as a lot of people make out, they do need a bit more attention than most community fish.
