Juwel Nitrate Removal Sponge

Ive had my nitrate removal sponge in for 6 weeks now, juwel recomend you change it for another nitrate removal sponge but would there be any harm in me keeping the sponge in and would it act like one of the blue sponges, obvisouly i understand it would no longer be acting as a nitrate sponge anymore, or do you think i should just remove the nitrate and carbon filter and replace it with 1 large course blue sponge? Ta

ppl say dont use the nitrate sponge and replace it with another blue but i have kept it in and its fine but dont replace your sponges yet it will kill all your good Bactria thats built up in the 6weeks just wash them every month or so in your tank water when you do a water change NOT tap water only chamge you sponges when its literally falling apart

no need to change sponges, till they fall apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah just leave it in and it will act the same as the other sponges, the only one Ive taken out and not used it on, is the tank Ive got plants in, just because they use up the nitrAte so I dont want something taking it out, although Ive no idea how good those sponges are at removing nitrAte anyways.
