Either this thing is a joke or I'm doing it wrong. The diffuser doesn't hold the bubbles in long enough to dissolve and I'm through a tablet in one day. Can someone help? Do I need a bubble ladder instead?

Basically they are worthless. The fizzing action isn't very useful and it only last as long as it is bubbling. To be of any benefit you would have to replace the tabs as soon as the previous tab is used up. It would be much cheaper and more beneficial to just mix up DIY co2.
