What do you think? I like them alot and think they are pretty, but the camera is bad so i cant show you the actual color, they both show some red. And are around 1 and a half inches. Any tips on their care.

what other fish are in the tank?
how big is the tank?

did you do any research on Hemichromis bimaculatus before you bought it?

I have them in a 20g flat hexagon, by themselves( except for the cory). I have done reshearch on them, but i figured i would have more experienced people give me tips on keeping them. I right now dont plan on adding anything else, if i do it will be more jewel's , so they can pair of if mine dont pair.

Cool little jewels man! I kept one a while back and they are great fun. Pretty aggresive though. They are easy to take care of, take a variety of foods, etc. So I don't really have any expert advice...

Thanks, now they are really starting to color up. And they are eatiing aggressivley. I have noticed that the bigger one seems to have a rounder belly. It might be a female, or it is my eyes.

I gto a 3rd yesterday, soo there is a better chance that i will have a pair. This one is a ircandescent, and he is a stellar looking jewel .

How are they getting on now krib?
...Saw this post while looking at another juwel thread.

TYhey paired up. Then the male hurt the female real bad. I seperated them. Later i traded them in, as they didnt get along.

thought about adding a jewel to my tank they are great fish, my one friend has a "Asian red jewel" i think thats what it is called and i must say it is one of his nicest fish but, they are hard to come by around here.

They are nice fish, when you can get them to get along!!!!!!!! They are VERY common around here! I have never heard of a Asian Red Jewel, so i am guessing it is just a regular red with a fancy name.
