I have had on dwarf Mexican crawfish for a while now that has been doing really and I wanted to put more in to see they would start breeding.

A little while later I noticed one the new arrivals on top of the older one holding her upside down. I stuck my hand in and broke them up thinking it was a dead to the fight. So them I calmed down and looked up crayfish making on google and all the pics looked exactly like what they were doing. A while later I saw them at in again so I got my camera and started photography them and did a short video as well. From the time I saw till they brake up on the video is about 5-7 minutes. May be I will use this post to start a journal about breeding these guys. I would have to set up a small tank that I have and do a little more research. If I leave the babied in this tank they will surely be lunch.

here are the pics I took

This is a link to the short vid of less than a minute. I think it is interesting.

Any way I hope you enjoy it. I am hoping that others with experience of breeding crayfish will chime in on the subject. Thanks.

Any luck with the breeding? I have two CPO's myself and just saw them mating this morning.

One of them did become berried and I never saw any of the babies and a couple weeks later all my CPO's were dead. never saw them sick, they were just dead. I don't think I will be trying this species again anytime soon. Good luck with yours

Hmm. I just found my female berried this morning. Fingers crossed...
