I’m new to this forum and I need a little help! I’ve had fish off and on since 1970, and while I’m no expert, I do have a little knowledge.

While dealing with some planaria, I discovered these in my paludarium in which I have 3 female red claw crabs, a pair of mollies and 2 zebra danios. I just recently lost my male crab to creeping death which was a first for me. Now I’ve discovered these critters amoung the gravel and for once I’m clueless. What are they and how do I get rid of them?

Wow! I’ve never had egg layers produce any babies in my many years of having tropical fish! Do I need to do anything particular for them? My molly fry have a tank of their own but these are soooo small!

They are very tiny, I agree with @Deanasue plants can be great hiding places and may even provide food depending on the plants. If you have no plants use rocks and pile them up so there are small opening for the fry to hide it. I use a fry net to keep the fry in until I have some place to put them. For now they may even be safe hiding in the gravel.

Zebra danio's I would feed them egg yoke as my post " First Food " . Really cool you should be able to raise a few. By the way the egg yoke will travel to the gravel bed where these guys are.

Add some plants for it to hide in or move it if you can. Feed Hikari First Bites or whatever you’re feeding your other fry. That Is so cool! Congrats.
The other fry are in a heavily planted tank but I think I’m just gonna move the 2 danios and the molly pair for now. There’s rocks big time in my paludarium but no plants due to the crabs. Never have had any success with plants around them! They tear everything up! There’s a patch of fake grass in there. They’re just way to small to try and catch

I agree! Thanks

I really thought I had some strange parasite! What a surprise! 50 years experience and this is a first for me,
That's pretty fantastic though, right? Both that its a happy surprise after thinking the worst, and that you can still be surprised, 50 years into the hobby :D You have to love it! Hope you'll update us with more photos as they grow!
