Ian's Lounge Tank

Amazing tank!

Do you really have cherry barbs in there? They destroyed my tank when it was planted before :look:

Oh ian you big tease

Glad you opted back for Gourami's! And yellow ones! Mine are still going good, no breeding yet. Also my HC is gradually taking off now i'm dosing Flourish Excel and not using my fire exstinguisher (odd).

Can't wait to see the HC!

Thanks everyone...llj the Pogostemon doesn't appear to be getting anymore leggy, perhaps it was just me lol. I'll get a pic lol.

Chilipepper, i have never had a problem with Cherrys in a planted tank. They don't normally touch plants.

Thanks James, once i can get the new camera in order i'll get some HC pics up.

Heres a few from tonight...

 I knew you'd be playing with the new camera.

Pictures look good. No, my cherry barbs never touched my plants either.

Maybe they weren't Cherries I had, hold on, they may have been Rosies. They were a golden sort of colour like your gouramis. All I know is they destroyed my plants, so can't be what you have

LOL just Googled and they definitely weren't Cherries... Ignore me

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, had a nightmare since i have been away. Just arrived home to find A LOT of floating micranthemum umbrosum, i have trimmed/ripped it right back! The Hygro has all but disintegrated since it hasn't been dosed for over a week (it's really taken a hammering) I have got a couple of plantlets from it and planted them :-( . Have just been to P@H to grab some dog food and they had some nice Vallis, so have replaced the Hygro with the vallis, i'm not sure to be honest. Will get some pics up in a bit.

Thats a shame man, you need a plant sitter, no one close by that can dose ferts for you?

theres no one nearby i'd trust with ferts! lol

heres a couple of pics...

Not looking bad at all mate, even with all the holiday problems :).... im sure everything will soon get back on track now your back :good:

And you weren't gone long. Imagine when I get back to my tank after a month away!!! :hyper: I'll need a machete to get the pruning done. I imagine jungle mess.

It looks good, Ian. I actually like the vallis.

Cheers guys, from now on Hygro Pinnafitida is now on my 'hard to care for' list lol. I have been out to the LFS to day though and found what is quite possibly the red-est ludwigia glandulosa perennis i have ever seen. I had to buy a couple of pots, just to see if i can keep it as red as it is. I doubt i will, but its a challenge. I'll get some pics of it later.

I don't think it looks bad either... Wonder what my tank will look like when I get back next week; it will have been 2 months then without water changes or ferts.....

The good thing is that now you get to experiment a bit more with your tank. You were getting to a stage that you were getting bored of not doing anything with it

you're a little bit right there Lu!

heres a few pics of the 'red' ludwigia! (also still trying out the new cam)
