It was time for a new scape, as you see it's just the hardscape until my plants arrive tomorrow. Juwel internal removed and juwel backing removed. The hardscape constists of Seiryu stone and Sumatra wood. The substrate is the good old fave, JBL aquabasis+ and Monado. Can't wait to get it planted now!

So what choice of plants have you gone for? :hyper:

looks nice......does beg the question, where did all the fish go???

Anubias nana, some more HC 'cuba', various crypts, some crinums, java moss, dwarf hairgrass, Hemianthus micranthemoides, Pogostemon helferi and some different hygro (i can't remember the name!)

I did, i'll send it either tomoz or Saturday.

thanks ZZ, they are all bagged up, and shall remain that way for 24 hours.

3D and internal gone I see. Is there some sort of background on the sides or is that how the tank is?

Love the sloping substrate. This is going to be good.

Cheers Jamepsss, it's going to stay as it is. It's actually a black background, it'll be more visible when it gets filled up.

I'm liking it. CO2 or low tech? I'm sitting here at work looking at a box of plant's that just arrived.
Need to ask the boss If i can go get em in some dirt.

I find a dark background makes the different shades of greens more striking.

I love Pogostemon helferi, though it's got to be one of the most fragile plants to get out of a pot I have ever come across. It's doing great in my nano tank and starting to spread but growth is slow for me. I heard somewhere that if there is high light and co2 the plants are actually smaller and grow other shoots faster but in lower light they grow bigger leaves and get a bit bushier with decreased growth obviously.

I've got myself a Crinum thaianum and Crinum calamistratum as well, I find the thaianum a beautiful plant. It grows amazingly under CO2 and high light but without CO2 it seems to have such a slow rate. Mine has suddenly spread roots all over the tank and under the substrate I will dread the day that this thing gets pulled out, it's pumped out 4 different leafy shoots in the past few days as well. The calamistratum hasn't done so well in my tank but I Think that is down to my poor planting skills, it's not as bulby and I just couldn't get it to anchor properly.

Thats alot of branches. You sure that isnt going to look too crowded once planted? Certainly once the plants have filled out it could look as if too much is crammed into one place. The rest of it is good, can't wait to see it planted and how you do it.

I actually thought the same...but... i was also thinking that the branches aren't long enough?.. seems to be very low down and the plants will over power it once the grow in?.

Where's the HC going Ian?... if planted around the front, you may want to make the substrate that little bit deeper.. not sure if it is just the pic but it seems very shallow around the front?.

Great start though and looking forward to seeing how you plant it.

Looking promising :good: But the rocks seem a tad small for the tank imo

Plants arrived early, so it's now planted. :good:

Cheer James, as some of the branch's will be planted on, so these will be hidden in effect.

Thanks Jake...Just looking now the top branch is just 4" from the top of the water. The tank has a lid so there was no plan in taking them out of the water.

That's the plan, you will only be able to see the tips of the branch's.

The substrate is around 3.5" deep right at the front, the Juwel trigon tank has quite i high lip. It's a very deep tank. I think its the pic angle.

Cheers Carl...

The stone is plenty big enough for what i want it, i don't want to make the stone the main feature. I may end up getting a few more bits though.

ps APS filter is absolutely silent! :p

Yeah thats what I sort of meant, a few more bits of rock would be the icing on the cake :#
