It would if you can get it across the pond. From what i understand, Tropica have full propagation rights on this plant at the moment. It's only been available on sale for about 2 months (if that). It looks amazing once it starts to spread.

Hey mate, ive just looked through the old ID post on ukaps regarding the ranunculus i said my nephew had a couple months back.... the actual time frame was mid March.... it was id'ed as ranunculus papulentus, do you know if this plant was re-named as inundatus?.... the plant was exactly the same and even google throws up an identical plant for both names?.


I new i had seen the plant a while back but im a bit confused now you've mentioned it only being around a couple of months.

Just curious now to know if tropica have actually renamed it or if they are actually different plants lol.

I bet it's been renamed, it looks the same. I know Tropica gave a few pots for Mark to try in his 60l, that was around that time. It has only come to market in the last couple of moths. Tropica sent it out to a few people to try out and make sure that people could grow it and i suppose get it out there. Where did he get it from?

He got it from a mate who owns an aquatics shop, was potted but they definitely wasn't tropica. the place doesn't actually work with to many plants (specialises in marine really) so he just orders a random amount from a list and they come as they are with no name tags lol.


The shop is close by here, it's called angel aquatics (sorry mods if naming isn't allowed )

Just a quick update, and the perils of an open top tank...i'm now down to 6 pencilfish!


These fish are jumpers, makes now mistake about that. On the plus side, my dog is very happy.

How many did you start out with? I keeping expecting go have a similar thing with my rasboras (it was the only thing that was worrying me about the tank being open topped) but so far, touch wood, they've been fine... your dog must think he's been well behaved, all these treats appearing from nowhere lol

Lol I have the same problem with my Lamp Eyes in the Cuban Stream, I'm down to 8 mate and started with 20 , need something that wont jump, shoals and isn't too expensive. On the plus side tho the Celestial Pearl Danio's in the Isle of the Crypts are fine, breeding with no survivors and not jumping at all, but then they stay quite hidden.


Anyone got any good ideas?

I started off with 12 Pencils (they aren't the cheapest fish either!). I might just end up getting a school of Rasbora or Tetras. I'm not sure yet...

Glowlight tetra's. Very pretty fish that are often overlooked in favour of the cardinals.

Quick update...

I'm now dow to 4 Pencilfish!

Some Espei added.

The HC doesn't seem to be doing much, it's melted and taken it's submerged form, and doesn't seem to want to spread! I have upped the gas and flow is excellent.

The Alternanthera Rosaefolia 'mini', completely melted within 2 days. I left it alone and 2 weeks later, it starts to sprout. I have trimmed it right down...it has kept it's redness well.

Not much change on a FTS lol!
